A number of functions in Windows can be performed with keyboard shortcuts. Today we talk about 20 Windows keyboard shortcuts.
First, let’s find Windows key. It’s located on the lower row of the keyboard, to the left of the space bar. This button will be involved in all the following shortcuts.
Shortcut 1: If you just press Win key, it will open the Start Menu. In Windows 8.1 it will open the previous window.
Shortcut 2: Press Win key followed by A. In Windows 10 it will open the Action Centre. The Action Centre gives you quick access to your computer settings.
Shortcut 3: The combination of Win key and B key selects the first icon in the Notification Area. You can then switch between the icons using the arrow keys.
Shortcut 4: Win key plus Ctrl key followed by B. This combination switches to a program indicating a new message in the Notification Area.
Shortcut 5: Pressing Win key and C key in Windows 10, opens Cortana but only if you’re using a supported language. For English, it should work just fine.
Shortcut 6: This one is beneficial if you want to minimize all the opened windows immediately. Just press Win key followed by D key, and you will see your desktop in a split of a second.
Shortcut 7: Next combination provides Quick access to Windows Explorer. For that press Win key and E keys together. In Windows 10 it also opens the Quick Launch by default.
Shortcut 8: Win key and F key pressed together opens ’Find files and folders.’ In Windows 10 it opens Feedback hub.

Shortcut 9: Combination of Windows key, Ctrl and F opens ’Find computers’.
Shortcut 10: Win key plus G key works differently in different Windows versions. In Window 7 and Vista it brings all the gadgets to the foregrounds that are in process at the moment. In Windows 10 it opens the Game bar.
Shortcut 11: If you want to change the user or lock the workstation quickly. Then just press Win key followed by L and it will do it for you.
Shortcut 12: Keys Win and M minimize all windows.
Shortcut 13: Just press Windows, Shift, and M to restore the last minimized window.
Shortcut 14: Win and O pressed together will lock your device orientation and will disable the gyroscope function on tablets.
Shortcut 15: Do you use any external monitor or projector? For this press Win key followed by P key, and it will switch operating modes. It works only for Windows 7 and newer.
Shortcut 16: Search for all installed apps in Windows 8 and newer is opened by combination of Window key and Q.
Shortcut 17: Press Win key and R key and then choose a program or application you want to run.
Shortcut 18: Keys Win and T will switch focus to the Taskbar. It works only in Windows 7 and newer.
Shortcut 19: U stands for Utility in windows. Win and U will open the Utility Manager for you.
Shortcut 20: Press Win key and W, and it will open Windows Workspace.
